Announcement Regarding Conditional Regularization for Certain Foreign Nationals under the Authority of the Directorate General of Migration Management

Pursuant to the newly implemented regulation by the Directorate General of Migration Management, a conditional regularization mechanism has been introduced for foreign nationals who initially entered the Republic of Türkiye through legal channels but subsequently became irregular due to overstaying the permitted period of stay. It is essential to emphasize that this measure does not constitute a general amnesty applicable to all foreign nationals, but is strictly limited to individuals seeking residence permits for employment in domestic services.

Eligibility Criteria

Foreign nationals may benefit from this conditional arrangement only if all of the following conditions are met:

1. Lawful entry into Türkiye through official border crossings;

2. Subsequent overstay resulting in unlawful residence status;

3. Intention to apply for a residence permit specifically for employment in domestic services;

4. Possession of a valid passport with a remaining validity of at least 8 months at the time of application.

Under this provision, eligible applicants may obtain residence permits without being subject to administrative fines for their previous overstay.

Exclusions from Scope

The following categories of individuals are explicitly excluded from benefiting under this regulation:

Foreign nationals who entered Türkiye through irregular or unlawful means;

Individuals whose passports are either invalid or do not meet the required validity period;

Persons intending to engage in any form of employment other than domestic services.
